The People's Bank of China and eight government agencies have issued a notice to expand the development, sharing and use of data for technology finance. The notice introduces the National Technology Finance Data Development and Utilization Directory 1.0, covering 26 indicators across eight categories, including companies’ technology credentials, financing, operations, research and development, intellectual property and innovation capacity. The framework supports regional data lists, provincial information infrastructure and stronger links between existing systems, subject to standardized access and end-to-end data security controls. It also calls for pilots of trusted data spaces, broader use of authorized public and corporate transaction data, and market-based credit databases for technology companies. Financial institutions are encouraged to use these resources to build digital credit profiles and risk models, develop products tailored to subsector financing needs, and analyze funding flows across industrial supply chains.
