The Thailand Office of Insurance Commission (OIC) announced it has received a plaque recognising it as an “organisation supporting a learning society through board games”, reflecting its use of board game-based tools to build “Sense of Insurance” and improve insurance and financial literacy. The OIC also indicated it is preparing to work with regulatory and partner bodies to promote learning across finance, insurance and investment. The OIC participated in the “Wishlist Thailand Tournament 2025” and a related panel discussion alongside representatives from the Bank of Thailand and the Stock Exchange of Thailand, and demonstrated the board game “Over the Moon”, developed from the winner of the OIC’s Board Game Innovation competition. The game simulates everyday risks such as accidents, illness and emergency expenses, and is designed to help players understand the consequences of managing risk with or without insurance; the OIC linked the initiative to wider challenges including high household debt, limited retirement readiness and persistent misconceptions about insurance. The OIC said it plans to extend cooperation on new board game initiatives that combine insurance, financial planning and investment content, including collaboration with the Bank of Thailand and the Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand.
