The Brazil Securities Commission (CVM) issued Resolution CVM 233 amending its internal bylaws to strengthen institutional alignment on “innovation and intelligence”, including the use of data analytics and artificial intelligence, by concentrating related work in a dedicated area under the Institutional Development and Modernisation Sectional Superintendence (SDE). The reorganisation consolidates data-related responsibilities currently held by the Investigation Intelligence Office (GIIN/SPS) and the Strategic Risk Supervision Intelligence Office (GRID/SSR) into a new Intelligence Development Office (GDI/SDE). GIIN/SPS is extinguished, GRID/SSR’s competencies are revised and its name is expected to be changed in the future, and the competencies of the Risk Supervision Superintendence (SSR) are adjusted as a consequence. Resolution CVM 233 enters into force on 1 August 2025.
