South Korea's Ministry of Economy and Finance, through its Export Plus Support Group, established a standing coordination channel with North Gyeongsang Province to address regional exporters’ difficulties in securing overseas certifications, finding buyers and accessing financial support. The initiative links central and local authorities with export promotion agencies and policy financial institutions amid uncertainty over logistics, energy markets and protectionism. Exporters also raised customs and logistics concerns at the inaugural cooperation meeting. In response, the group highlighted its regional certification briefings and real-time support channel, while a separate export finance session presented preferential loans tailored to small and midsize exporters and trade insurance covering unpaid receivables. Participating institutions offered individual consultations, with 31 companies applying to attend. An overseas technical regulation and certification briefing for textile and fashion companies is scheduled for Sept. 30. The group also plans to continue regional export finance and certification sessions throughout the year.
