The Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten (CBCS) announced that the Caribbean guilder (Cg) banknote series received the Regional Best New Banknote Series 2025 Award at the High Security Printing Latin America Conference in Rio de Janeiro. The award cited the notes’ visual artistry and technical sophistication, and how the design reflects the cultural heritage of Curaçao and Sint Maarten. Other winners included Bermuda’s 1- and 2-dollar notes and Guatemala’s commemorative 1-quetzal note. CBCS branch director Raquel Lo‑Fo‑Wong accepted the award and linked it to the years of work behind the Cg notes, while CBCS representatives also presented at the conference on the importance of effective communications during currency introductions.
