Enmanuel Cedeño Brea has been sworn in as superintendent of banks of the Dominican Republic, replacing Alejandro Fernández W. after six years. His appointment, made under Decree 606-26 in accordance with the Monetary and Financial Law, is for a two-year term. Cedeño Brea plans to continue the Superintendency of Banks’ strategic plan, focusing on institutional maturity, risk-based supervision and regulatory innovation. He previously served as the authority’s principal adviser and technical coordinator, and earlier led work covering financial regulation, anti-money laundering and counterterrorist financing supervision, innovation, financial inclusion, licensing and administrative sanctions.
