The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) announced it has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) to collaborate on research, education, training and skill development, with a focus on strengthening SEBI’s forensic capabilities. The MoU provides for capacity building for SEBI officers in areas including digital forensics, forensic accounting and cyber security, including specially tailored courses and training programmes. It also covers joint seminars, conferences and workshops, use of each party’s expertise, facilities and resources, consultancy to develop state-of-the-art digital forensics infrastructure at SEBI in Mumbai or elsewhere as required, and specialised collaborations such as setting up laboratories in cyber security, digital forensics, forensic accounting and data analytics, subject to applicable laws on knowledge sharing.
