The Central Bank of Montenegro announced that the International Monetary Fund has launched its regular annual Article IV consultations with Montenegro in Podgorica from 15 to 26 September, led by Srikant Seshadri. The mission is gathering updated information on the country’s economy, outlook and policies. The IMF delegation opened its visit with meetings with Central Bank Governor Irena Radovic and Finance Minister Novica Vukovic and their senior staff, covering key economic trends and the authorities’ activities to strengthen financial stability and improve public finances. The mission will also meet representatives from the private sector and academia to assess the overall economic situation, with discussions focusing on economic policies for the coming period and other pressing issues. The mission’s preliminary findings are scheduled to be presented publicly on 26 September at a joint press conference hosted by the Central Bank of Montenegro, the Ministry of Finance and the IMF.
