The Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets published a speech by board member Jos Heuvelman setting out the AFM’s view of how generative artificial intelligence (AI) will affect the roles of mortgage advisers and the supervisor. In remarks delivered at the Hypotheken Event on 11 February, Heuvelman said the mortgage advice process is expected to become faster, more consistent and less error-prone, with the main shift being towards an adviser acting as an orchestrator who remains responsible for the machine’s judgement rather than producing all advice content themselves.
