The Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency published a recap of its two-day European capital markets conference, organized in partnership with Luxembourg’s Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier. Regulators, European Union institutions and industry representatives emphasized more integrated, proportionate and data-driven supervision, alongside simpler rules and stronger cooperation among European and national authorities. Discussions covered the Retail Investment Strategy, Market Integration and Supervision Package, Digital Operational Resilience Act and artificial intelligence regulation, with particular attention to proportionality, reform sequencing and reporting burdens. European Securities and Markets Authority Chair Verena Ross called for supervision through 2030 to become more integrated, data-driven and outcome-oriented, while participants also stressed consumer protection, resilience, reduced market fragmentation and risk-based enforcement.
