The Board of Directors of the Bank of Central African States reviewed economic and financial conditions in the Central African Economic and Monetary Community, cooperation with the International Monetary Fund and the central bank’s reform agenda, and adopted several governance and operational measures. The main decisions were the adoption of a framework governing delegation of powers within the central bank’s management, approval of the Bank’s revised 2026 budget and adoption of its 2025 annual report. The board also reviewed implementation of resolutions and recommendations from earlier sessions, noted progress and called for continued work to ensure full implementation. On governance, it adopted the reports of the Audit Committee and the Board of Censors. It further authorized Africa Finance Corporation as a banking counterparty and Bank of China as a counterparty and correspondent bank for the BEAC trading room. In addition, the board took note of progress by the Central African Banking Commission in revising the regulatory and supervisory framework for payment service activities within the Central African Economic and Monetary Community.
