The Central Bank of Estonia published its monthly flash estimate of the balance of payments for the last month but one and confirmed that the balance of payments for the fourth quarter of 2024 will be released on 12 March 2025. The bank explained that quarterly balance of payments statistics are compiled from a combined system of representative primary data sources, including company surveys, while the monthly balance of payments is based on a smaller database. The flash estimate uses as much data as possible for the month reported, including administrative sources and international payments reports, but remains partly subjective and is therefore treated as an estimate; once the quarterly balance of payments is released, the monthly series is adjusted accordingly. The Central Bank of Estonia released its monthly flash estimate of the balance of payments for the penultimate month, noting that the fourth quarter 2024 balance of payments will be published on 12 March 2025. The monthly estimate, based on a smaller database and partly subjective, will be adjusted upon the quarterly release.
