The Brazilian Superintendence of Private Insurance (SUSEP) published an update on its participation in Brazil’s financial education initiatives, including the Treasury Direct Financial Education Olympiad (OLITEF) awards event and the launch of a new Ministry of Education programme in which SUSEP will have a strategic governance role. At the OLITEF ceremony in Brasília, SUSEP was represented by its Coordinator-General for Economic Studies, Gabriel Porto, alongside the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, and the National Treasury Secretary, Rogério Ceron, as well as Ministry of Education and B3 representatives. During the event, the Ministry of Education’s Secretary for Basic Education, Katia Scheikardt, announced that the Consciência e Ação programme will be implemented as a policy for education in financial, fiscal, pension and insurance citizenship, noting that SUSEP supported the programme’s structuring phase and will join its Strategic Committee. SUSEP also highlighted the 12th National Financial Education Week (Semana ENEF), scheduled for 12 to 18 May 2025 under the theme “Financial Education for Children and Youth: Preparing Society for Conscious Choices”. The Brazilian Financial Education Forum (FBEF), chaired by SUSEP from June 2024 to June 2026, will organise the initiative and is inviting institutions across sectors to contribute activities directly or in partnership with FBEF members.
