The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) has released its Annual Superannuation Bulletin for the year ended 30 June 2025, setting out updated statistics on the size and composition of Australia’s superannuation industry. As at 30 June 2025, total superannuation assets stood at AUD 4,337 billion, comprising AUD 3,047 billion in APRA-regulated assets, AUD 1,052 billion in self-managed super fund assets, AUD 178 billion in exempt public sector superannuation schemes, and AUD 60 billion in life office statutory fund assets. For entities with more than six members over the year, total contributions were AUD 209 billion (AUD 101 billion for MySuper products) and total benefit payments were AUD 132 billion (AUD 27 billion for MySuper). Member benefits totalled AUD 3,117 billion (AUD 1,184 billion for MySuper), with an average account balance of AUD 131,980 (AUD 76,729 for MySuper).
