Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Otto Lobo said the regulator will begin testing AI assisted, data driven supervision by the end of 2026 as part of a broader modernization of its oversight of Brazil’s capital markets. He outlined the initiative during the Fordham Law School Annual Blockchain Regulatory Symposium in New York, where discussions focused on regulation of crypto assets, blockchain and emerging financial infrastructure. Lobo also highlighted the commission’s tokenization work, including the recent creation of a Tokenization Working Group comprising representatives from its supervisory departments and market participants. The group supports the regulator’s efforts to develop tokenization initiatives within the Brazilian capital market.
