At a working group meeting on the preparation of a study on crowdfunding regulation, North Macedonia's Ministry of Finance said it is starting the process of creating a regulatory framework for crowdfunding. The ministry indicated that the work will draw on European practices and be adapted to the domestic market, with the aim of giving participants a clear and reliable framework for this funding model. The ministry described crowdfunding as an additional source of finance, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises and innovative business ideas. The immediate step is to complete the study reviewing European approaches, after which the ministry will begin drafting legislation to regulate the area.
