The Central Bank of the Philippines has sworn in Assistant Governor Lyn I. Javier as Deputy Governor of its Financial Supervision Sector, placing her in charge of supervising banks and other financial institutions under the central bank’s jurisdiction. She succeeds Chuchi G. Fonacier, who retired on 01 August 2025. Javier joined the central bank’s supervision function in 1998 and most recently served as Assistant Governor for the Financial Supervision Sector’s Policy and Specialized Supervision Sub-Sector, overseeing supervisory policy and data management and the supervision of treasury, trust, information technology and anti-money laundering operations. She is a certified public accountant, represents the central bank on the Financial Reporting Standards Council, and has served as its representative to the Basel Consultative Group, the Executives’ Meeting of East Asia-Pacific Central Banks Working Group on Banking Supervision and the Network for Greening the Financial System workstream on scaling up green finance.
