The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Economy has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Emirates Institute of Finance to expand cooperation on financial training, professional qualification and national capacity building in oversight, financial management, governance, institutional compliance, anti-money laundering and financial crime. The arrangement is intended to raise the capabilities of national staff and support institutional performance in line with international standards. The memorandum sets a framework for specialized training programs for compliance personnel in business sectors and designated non-financial businesses and professions. These programs cover anti-money laundering, countering the financing of terrorism and proliferation financing, as well as risk assessment, due diligence and suspicious transaction monitoring in line with Financial Action Task Force standards. Cooperation also includes joint initiatives to strengthen institutional capabilities and modern financial management and governance frameworks, alongside exchanges of studies, research and technical reports, joint workshops and conferences, professional development and certification programs, and technical and advisory support.
