The Bank of Namibia announced that Namibia's Instant Payments Solution has successfully completed pilot testing and is ready for a controlled, phased go-live. The pilot involved live transactions between the bank's Currency Management and Banking Operations Department and the first cohort of participating institutions, Bank Windhoek, Nampost and Letshego Bank Namibia, confirming that the platform can transfer and receive funds securely and efficiently in a live production environment. The milestone follows development, testing and validation work by the Bank of Namibia, Instant Payments Namibia and participating institutions. The first implementation phase will support the Government-to-Person use case, allowing participating institutions to receive and disburse government social grant payments through the platform. Later phases after the G2P go-live will introduce the remaining use cases.
