The Egypt Financial Regulatory Authority has directed the Egyptian Compulsory Insurance Pool for Civil Liability arising from motor vehicle accidents to pay EGP 100,000 in compensation for each death resulting from the accident on the old eastern desert road in Samalut, Minya Governorate, in line with the Unified Insurance Law. The instruction also calls for expedited handling of claims for both deceased and injured victims, with staff tasked to support families in completing required documentation and to facilitate procedures to speed up payment. The pool’s coverage includes death and bodily injury from car accidents, with injury compensation determined according to the disability percentage set by the medical commission. Compensation procedures are to be initiated through the pool after receipt and review of the accident documentation and completion of the legal registration and classification by the Public Prosecution, which is conducting the investigation.
