Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) marked the completion of the second cycle of its investED Leadership Programme, with more than 190 graduates finishing the programme. Applications for the third cohort are open until 30 June 2025, and trainees receive a monthly allowance of RM2,400 during the training period. The investED Leadership Programme, announced in June 2023, is positioned as a capital market talent pipeline and a collaboration involving the SC, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Higher Education, capital market firms and universities. Over the past two years, 368 graduates have been trained and 233 have been employed. The second cohort, which began in August 2024, drew 1,200 applications and combined one month of classroom training at the Asia School of Business with six months of placements at capital market firms. Alongside the leadership track, the investED Foundation Programme delivered by the Securities Industry Development Corporation (SIDC) recorded more than 1,000 student enrolments last year, exceeding a target of 800 by 25%. investED also ran 44 career talks and 13 career fairs nationwide over two years, reaching over 110,600 students, with 13,500 attending the career talks and surpassing a three-year target of 9,000 in under two years.
