Dominican Republic's Pensions Superintendency (SIPEN) awarded Farmacia Los Hidalgos its “Aquí Sabemos de Pensiones” seal after the company trained more than 70% of its employees on how the Dominican Pension System works, its benefits, and available options to help improve future pensions. The certification was presented by Pensions Superintendent Francisco A. Torres, who highlighted the role of employers in supporting pension education and noted that the seal reflects efforts to ensure staff understand that pension contributions deducted from wages belong to them and build retirement savings. Farmacias Los Hidalgos’ president, Ernesto Martínez Staffeld, described the firm as the first in its category to obtain the seal and linked the training to awareness of the value of formal employment and accrued pension-system benefits. SIPEN indicated it will continue working with companies and institutions on pension education so workers better understand the system that safeguards their retirement savings.
