The Australian Securities & Investments Commission published an update that two former Statewide Super executives have been acquitted of dishonesty offences following a trial in the District Court of South Australia. A jury acquitted former Chief Risk Officer Kieran Francis Netting on 7 October 2025 and former Chief Financial Officer Grant David Eastwood on 15 October 2025. The matter was prosecuted by the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions after a referral from ASIC. The charges, laid on 9 December 2022, related to the procurement of services between February 2019 and December 2019 and alleged contraventions of sections 184(2)(a) and (b) of the Corporations Act; both defendants pleaded not guilty in the Adelaide Magistrates’ Court on 29 February 2024 and were committed for trial in the District Court of South Australia, which was listed for 8 September 2025.
