The Albania Financial Services Authority announced that, from 1 April 2025, Albanian citizens can travel to North Macedonia using a 12-month “Green Card” motor insurance policy priced at EUR 50. The measure follows recent changes aimed at easing cross-border travel for Albanian-registered vehicles in line with recommendations of the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA) Joint Committee. Implemented in cooperation with the Albanian Insurance Bureau and based on its decision, the EUR 50 one-year policy for passenger cars covering North Macedonia is available at all insurance companies’ sales points. Insurers will also offer a one-year Green Card for Montenegro, and will continue to sell the 15-day Green Card policy priced at EUR 15. The Green Card provides international third-party liability cover for accidents occurring outside Albania.
