The Central Bank of Cyprus published updated aggregate data on non-performing loans for the Cyprus banking sector with a reference date of 30 June 2025, showing the Non-Performing Loans (NPLs) ratio fell to 5.6% from 6.1% at end-March 2025. The coverage ratio of NPEs with bad debt provisions increased to 62.0% from 60.5% over the same period. The decline in the NPL ratio was attributed mainly to exchange rate fluctuations, repayments, positive movements in performing loans and write-offs. Total restructured loans stood at EUR 1.2 billion at end-June 2025, of which EUR 0.6 billion remained included in NPEs.
