The National Bank of Serbia published first quarter 2026 payment system data showing continued growth in digital banking, driven mainly by mobile banking. Based on data from payment service providers, the number of registered mobile banking users reached 5,337,237 at the end of the quarter, up 10.3% from the same period in 2025, while registered electronic banking users rose 5.7% to 5,061,586. Use of digital banking instruments also increased. Mobile and electronic banking channels processed a combined 69.8 million payments in the first quarter of 2026, 12.7% more than a year earlier. Mobile banking accounted for the main increase, with transactions rising 28.1% to 39.4 million from 30.7 million, while electronic banking payments fell 2.5% to 30.4 million from 31.2 million.

The National Bank of Serbia published first quarter 2026 payment system data showing continued growth in digital banking, led by mobile banking. Registered mobile banking users rose 10.3% year-on-year to 5.34 million and electronic banking users increased 5.7% to 5.06 million, while combined mobile and electronic banking payments grew 12.7% to 69.8 million, driven by a 28.1% rise in mobile transactions and a 2.5% decline in electronic banking payments.
