The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye published a press release on its hosting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) Central Banks Forum in Istanbul on September 28-29, 2025. The meeting was attended by senior representatives from the central banks of OIC member countries and was opened and chaired by Governor Fatih Karahan. The first session discussed the global economic and financial outlook amid trade fragmentation and geopolitical risks and reviewed economic developments in OIC member countries. Subsequent sessions focused on payment services and cross-border transactions, including the sharing of country experiences and best practices, and assessed progress over the past decade in priority areas of the OIC 2025 Programme of Action with direct economic dimensions. A workshop on payment services and cross-border transactions and a panel on inflation expectations and dynamics in OIC countries were held alongside the Forum.
