The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo published an update on Governor Ahmet Ismaili’s bilateral meeting with International Monetary Fund (IMF) Deputy Managing Director Bo Li on the sidelines of the 2026 IMF and World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington, DC. The discussion focused on Kosovo’s recent economic, financial and monetary developments and continued cooperation on reforms and capacity building. The central bank highlighted financial sector performance, progress in maintaining financial stability, and advancement of structural reforms, including efforts to strengthen the regulatory framework and reinforce the integrity of the financial system with IMF technical assistance. It also reiterated support for regional initiatives such as the IMF’s Southeast Europe Technical Assistance Center (SEETAC), and noted progress in implementing recommendations from IMF missions, including the Article IV process. Bo Li welcomed the central bank’s progress and underscored the importance of continuing reforms and close inter-institutional cooperation, including the possibility of expanding cooperation through new programs.
