Brazil’s Securities Commission (CVM) has been approved to join the Brazilian Intelligence System (Sisbin) as an associated body, formalising cooperation with the Brazilian Intelligence Agency (ABIN) and other Sisbin members. The arrangement is intended to enable the sharing of strategic information relevant to threats listed in the National Intelligence Policy, particularly organised crime, terrorism and corruption. CVM will contribute structured information of interest to intelligence activity, including data that may support analysis of financial movements and potential money laundering, consistent with work it already undertakes under the National Strategy for Combating Corruption and Money Laundering (ENCCLA). Cooperation also extends to supporting the design and delivery of courses or training for investigative and analytical professionals, while CVM expects to use data, information and expertise from other Sisbin institutions to strengthen its own investigative intelligence capabilities in the securities market. Finalisation of CVM’s entry into Sisbin is contingent on ABIN and CVM agreeing and executing a joint Work Plan, as предусмотрed by Ordinance No 2,091/2024.
