The Central Bank of Brunei Darussalam published its Residential Property Price Index for the second quarter of 2026, showing a modest decline in private residential property prices. The index fell to 96.2, down 3.0% from the first quarter and 0.3% from a year earlier. Banks financed 120 private residential property transactions, 36.4% more than in the previous quarter but 17.8% fewer than a year earlier. Detached houses accounted for 64.2% of transactions, while no financing for land purchases was reported. The overall median purchase price was BND255,000, down 1.5% quarter on quarter and up 0.2% year on year. Brunei-Muara accounted for 96 of the 120 purchases, followed by Belait with 14 and Tutong with 10. The central bank cautioned that the index provides general market information and does not determine the value of individual properties, which varies according to factors including location, land size and floor area.
