The Securities and Exchange Board of India announced that Shri Tuhin Kanta Pandey has taken charge as its Chairman in Mumbai. Pandey is a 1987-batch Indian Administrative Service officer of the Odisha cadre and most recently served as Union Finance Secretary. His prior roles include Revenue Secretary; Secretary, Department of Investment and Public Asset Management; Secretary, Department of Public Enterprises; and Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training. He has also held positions in the Planning Commission (now Niti Aayog), Cabinet Secretariat and Ministry of Commerce, and served in the Government of Odisha across departments including Finance, Health, General Administration, Commercial Taxes and Transport, as well as a stint with the Regional Office of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation.
