At its annual general meeting, the International Swaps and Derivatives Association outlined the next phase of its Digital Regulatory Reporting initiative, adding artificial intelligence tools to support regulatory reporting rule interpretation and coding. ISDA said the platform, launched in 2022 to improve the accuracy and consistency of regulatory reporting, now supports eight sets of reporting rules globally. The initiative uses the Common Domain Model to turn an industry interpretation of reporting rules into code, with the aim of improving efficiency and reducing the risk of fines for misreported data. ISDA has selected Gentek AI to build a traceability tool that will let users review the history of DRR decision-making and identify when and why coding choices were made, creating an audit trail of development. It is also developing an AI-driven translator agent to review new or updated reporting requirements and support their conversion into code, reducing the time, effort and cost of keeping pace with rule changes. ISDA said it expects to bring its first AI agents to market later this year.
