The Danish Financial Supervisory Authority has appointed Søren Tschufarin Buhl as deputy director general responsible for insurance and pensions, economic analysis and internal IT. He will take office on Jan. 1, 2027, succeeding Carsten Brogaard, who left the authority on July 1, 2026. Buhl joins from LB Forsikring, where he has served as chief risk officer and group executive for risk management and group legal affairs. His earlier roles include compliance officer at Jyske Bank and a position in the authority’s consumer office, where he began his career in 2004. To mitigate conflicts of interest, he will be barred for six months from participating in cases involving LB Forsikring.

The Danish Financial Supervisory Authority has appointed Søren Tschufarin Buhl as deputy director general for insurance and pensions, economic analysis and internal IT from Jan. 1, 2027. The former LB Forsikring chief risk officer will be excluded from cases involving that insurer for six months to mitigate conflicts of interest.
