The Bank of Albania and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development have launched WE Finance Code Albania, a national partnership to improve access to finance for women owned or women led micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. The central bank will act as national coordinator, bringing together public authorities and financial institutions to pursue a more inclusive financing market through better data, institutional cooperation and concrete measures. A key output is a national MSME financing dashboard that integrates lending and deposit data with business characteristics, including ownership gender, enterprise size, economic sector, region and legal form. The publicly accessible tool is intended to strengthen market analysis, transparency and data based decision-making, while participating institutions will work to improve data quality, monitor progress and support more suitable financial products and policies for women entrepreneurs.
