Peru's Superintendency of Banking, Insurance and Private Pension Fund Administrators has started returning deposits held at Caja Rural de Ahorro y Crédito Del Centro in liquidation that were not covered by the Deposit Insurance Fund. The new phase covers customer balances above PEN 117,200. The authority has published the first list of affected CRAC Del Centro customers with savings deposits, time deposits and compensation for time of service accounts that fall outside Deposit Insurance Fund coverage. Customers included on that list can verify availability of their funds on the SBS website and collect them at any CMAC Arequipa branch using their national identity document. For compensation for time of service deposits, customers may keep the funds at CMAC Arequipa or withdraw the portion available for free disposal. If they want to move that deposit to another financial institution, they must arrange the transfer with their employer.
