The Capital Markets Authority has approved a fund manager license for Karsis Asset Managers Limited, an investment adviser license for Vepris Cap Limited and the registration of E-Gum Ventures Limited as a venture capital company. The approvals expand the range of regulated investment intermediaries in Kenya, adding private wealth management, technology-led advisory services and a multi-fund venture capital platform aimed at different investor segments. Karsis Asset Managers plans to provide private wealth management and launch regulated unit trust funds spanning money market, fixed income, balanced, equity and special or innovative strategies. Vepris Cap will offer technology-driven trading and advisory services focused mainly on fixed-income instruments for retail and institutional clients. E-Gum Ventures is expected to operate through three funds: a Project Fund investing in government-linked infrastructure and capital market instruments, an Innovation Fund targeting fintech, agritech and healthtech startups, and an Impact Fund offering blended-finance solutions linked to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
