The National Bank of Ukraine has appointed Taras Tokarchuk as director of its Monetary Policy and Economic Analysis Department, effective 9 July 2026. In the role, he will oversee implementation of the central bank’s monetary policy strategy and decisions on monetary policy instruments, along with macroeconomic forecasting, economic analysis, support for the Monetary Policy Committee and coordination of research across the National Bank of Ukraine. The department is part of the Monetary Stability line of command overseen by Deputy Governor Volodymyr Lepushynskyi. Tokarchuk is an internal appointee with nearly two decades at the National Bank of Ukraine, most recently serving as acting director from 24 April 2026 after previously leading the Economic Analysis Office and serving as deputy head of the Macroeconomic Modeling and Forecasting Office.

Tokarchuk had been serving as acting director since 24 April 2026.
