The Australian Securities and Investments Commission has withdrawn relief that exempted companies, registered schemes, disclosing entities and notified foreign passport funds from providing annual reports to uncontactable members. The relief was due to expire on Oct. 1, 2026, but ASIC assessed that it was no longer used following changes to the Corporations Act 2001. The Corporations Act now provides similar relief where a member is uncontactable or has no current address for receiving documents in their elected manner. Entities that are not covered by the statutory provisions may apply to ASIC for individual relief.
