The Vietnam State Securities Commission announced that it co-hosted an online training workshop with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission for officials across Vietnam’s securities sector, focused on ASIC’s regulatory approach to cryptoassets and digital assets. The session was framed as a capacity-building exercise to support officials involved in managing cryptoasset trading markets and to inform policy research and development in Vietnam. Discussion covered ASIC’s legal framework and licensing roadmap for digital asset platforms, as well as market infrastructure initiatives such as tokenization of financial assets. Participants also examined how to classify digital assets as financial or non-financial products, protection of client assets in decentralized environments, use of distributed ledger technology, and anti-money laundering and market transparency requirements. Attendees included staff from the Vietnam State Securities Commission, stock exchanges and the Vietnam Securities Depository and Clearing Corporation.
