The Portuguese Securities Commission (CMVM) announced it will host a seminar on distributed ledger technologies (DLT) applied to capital markets on 23 March 2026 and opened a call for participants to submit research abstracts. The agenda will cover the rules for issuing and registering securities on DLT, DLT-enabled disintermediation, and the role of independent entities such as auditors in validating financial information in DLT-based ecosystems. Interested parties are invited to submit a roughly 500-word abstract (in Portuguese or English) and a curriculum vitae by 31 December 2025. Abstracts will be evaluated for originality and feasibility, the author’s relevant experience, relevance to the seminar theme, and coherence with the overall programme; each applicant may submit one abstract, with joint submissions permitted. Applicants will be notified of acceptance or rejection on 13 February 2026, with the final programme to be published on 20 February 2026. Accepted authors will be invited to present at the seminar, and full papers must be submitted by 30 April 2026 for possible subsequent publication in the Cadernos do Mercado de Valores Mobiliários.
