The National Bank of Georgia announced that Georgia has been elected by the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation to serve as the lead country for BSEC's Working Group on Banking and Finance for a two-year term starting July 1, 2026. In that role, Georgia will help plan and coordinate the group's work and organize its periodic meetings with the participation of banking and financial institutions from member states. The group is intended to strengthen cooperation among BSEC members in banking and finance. Its work covers deeper dialogue on regulation, supervision and information exchange, as well as the initiation of joint projects and the development of strategies for the sector. The National Bank of Georgia said the appointment will expand Georgia's multilateral engagement with central banks and financial institutions across the Black Sea region and support the exchange of experience and best practices.
