The National Bank of Moldova reported a bilateral meeting between Governor Anca Dragu and National Bank of Romania Deputy Governor Cosmin Marinescu, held in Chișinău alongside his participation in the international conference “New Technology for Old Markets”. The discussions focused on deepening cooperation under the two central banks’ collaboration agreement aimed at developing their financial and banking systems in line with European standards. The update highlighted results from National Bank of Romania technical assistance delivered in recent years, including through Twinning and TAIEX projects, supporting the National Bank of Moldova’s alignment with European standards and preparations for the Republic of Moldova’s accession to the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA). Cooperation has covered strengthening regulatory and supervisory capacity, as well as communication and financial education initiatives such as “School of Modern Finance”, and took place in the context of a conference co-organised by the National Bank of Moldova with the National Bank of Romania and the Banque de France in a hybrid format.
