Ukraine National Commission on Securities and Stock Market approves roadmap for implementing EU capital markets legislation for EU accession

The Ukraine National Commission on Securities and Stock Market approved a roadmap and accompanying analysis on implementing European Union capital markets legislation under Section 9 “Financial Services”, setting out stages and timing to align Ukraine’s capital market framework with EU standards in the context of EU accession negotiations. The roadmap provides a comparative assessment of current Ukrainian legislation against European standards, identifies regulatory gaps, and prioritises harmonisation across investment services and investment firms, issuer corporate governance and transparency, the functioning of stock exchanges, collective investments and pension funds, derivatives and commodity markets, and investor protection. It builds on the results of self-screening and screening meetings, with a final report prepared to underpin further approximation steps, and the document has been published in both Ukrainian and English.
