The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA) held a stakeholder meeting in Chake Chake, South Pemba to receive views on how to improve the authority’s services and strengthen insurance service delivery. The South Pemba Regional Commissioner, speaking through the Mkoani District Commissioner, called on insurance institutions to work more closely with communities to resolve problems affecting service quality. TIRA Deputy Commissioner Khadija Issa Said encouraged stakeholders to provide open feedback to support more effective and appropriate service delivery, while participants urged TIRA to respond more satisfactorily where policyholders face prolonged delays in compensation payments and to increase public education on the importance of insurance.
