Bolivia's Ministry of Finance reported the delivery of information technology equipment and specialist technical assistance to the Financial Investigations Unit (UIF) and the Directorate for Registration, Control and Administration of Seized Assets (DIRCABI). The support forms part of a European Union-funded project with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime to help Bolivia implement Financial Action Task Force standards and strengthen its response to money laundering, terrorist financing and organized crime. The UIF received a server and a storage area network system to expand its capacity to process, exchange and store information, alongside two consultants who will support systems used for financial analysis and intelligence. DIRCABI received a server to improve its Integrated Asset Information System, which supports the management of seized assets, and will receive technical assistance to complete and consolidate the system. The measures are intended to support Bolivia's efforts to leave the Financial Action Task Force list of jurisdictions under increased monitoring and establish conditions to remain off it.
