The Eurasian Group published the results of a July 7 to 9 training seminar in Bishkek for public sector and private sector representatives from the Kyrgyz Republic on best practices for ensuring transparency of the beneficial ownership of legal entities. The event was presented as part of the country’s preparation for the third round of Eurasian Group mutual evaluations and focused on strengthening the ability of participants in the national system for countering the financing of criminal activity and the laundering of criminal proceeds to identify, verify and analyze beneficial ownership data. The seminar was held with technical support from the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development. A staff member of the Eurasian Group Secretariat served as an expert and session moderator, while international experts participated as lecturers. Following the training, experts developed proposals to support preparation for the forthcoming visit by Eurasian Group assessors.
