The Thailand Office of Insurance Commission (OIC), through its Advanced Insurance Academy, held an Emerging Risk training session titled “Beyond Organization: sharp thinking for the organisation of the future” to strengthen staff capability for digital-era change. The session was opened by OIC Secretary-General Chuachat Pramulpol and featured a keynote by Flash Express founder and Chief Executive Officer Komsan Saelee, with more than 400 OIC executives and staff attending onsite and online. The keynote set out five dimensions for building a “future organisation” covering structure, processes, people, technology and performance measurement, and discussed a shift in organisational role from a traditional supervisor to a developer and promoter of the industry and a business partner. Topics included a central “Data Room” concept to connect public and private sector data, and an “AI Insurance Doctor” concept using OIC data to provide insurance guidance to the public, alongside references to insurance sector change in China driven by InsurTech and blockchain. The session also covered people management and performance, including grouping staff motivations, using OKRs instead of KPIs, developing AI skills across levels, and lessons from Flash Express’s expansion into eight Asian countries. OIC positioned the programme as part of its 2025 staff development plan and the OIC Competency Framework.
