The Ministry of Finance of Oman participated in the second AlUla Conference for Emerging Market Economies in AlUla, Saudi Arabia, which runs for two days. The Omani delegation was led by Finance Minister Sultan bin Salim Al Habsi and included Central Bank of Oman Governor Ahmed bin Jaafar Al Musalmi, alongside representatives from both institutions. The conference agenda focuses on economic policy amid shifts in the global trade and financial systems, including sessions on resetting global trade, monetary policy direction under structural change, and the role of fiscal policy in responding to economic shocks. Discussions also cover the private sector’s role in supporting growth in emerging economies and strengthening resilience through macro-policy coordination and structural reforms, with participation from finance ministers, central bank governors, policymakers, and experts from emerging markets and international institutions.
