The Supervisory Board of the Central Bank of Sint Maarten & Curacao announced that José Jardim will step down as Financial Economic Director effective 30 June 2025, as he moves to a leadership role at a commercial bank. The Supervisory Board said the transition has been arranged over recent months, with Jardim having ceased active involvement in the bank’s operations and supervised institutions other than handing over ongoing dossiers. A recruitment process has been launched to appoint a new Financial Economic Director, and in the interim CBCS President Richard Doornbosch and Executive Director Leila Matroos-Lasten will assume his responsibilities.
