The South African Reserve Bank has updated the statistical tables in its Quarterly Bulletin, adding new coverage for management companies of collective investment schemes and revising selected national government finance and domestic debt securities statistics. From this edition, three new tables (KB258, KB259 and KB260) present aggregated income statement and balance sheet data for management companies of collective investment schemes, and the trust companies table (KB253) has been moved to page S–40, with page numbering for subsequent tables adjusted accordingly. In national government finance (table KB401), amounts previously included in taxes on property for taxes on financial and capital transactions have been reclassified to taxes on goods and services to align with the Government Finance Statistics Manual 2014, with time series for both categories revised from 1 April 2019. Experimental tables on outstanding rand-denominated debt securities issued in the domestic market (KB256 and KB257) have also been revised to incorporate data on unlisted bond issuance in both nominal and market values.

Key changes involve reclassification of tax categories and revisions to time series data from April 2019. Experimental tables on rand-denominated debt securities now include unlisted bond issuance data.
